Touch Of The Master’s Hand (Live) - The Booth Brothers[00:00:00]
Written by:John Kramp[00:00:02]
Well it was battered and scarred[00:00:17]
And the auctioneer felt it was hardly worth his while[00:00:20]
To waste much time on the old violin[00:00:27]
Held it up with a smile[00:00:31]
He said it sure ain't much but its all we've got left[00:00:35]
I guess we ought to sell it too[00:00:40]
Oh now who'll start the bid on this old violin[00:00:46]
Just one more and we'll be through[00:00:51]
And then he cried one give me one dollar[00:00:56]
Who'll make it two[00:01:00]
Only two dollars[00:01:01]
Who'll make it three[00:01:03]
Three dollars twice now that's a good price[00:01:06]
Who's gonna bid for me[00:01:10]
Raise up your hand now don't wait any longer[00:01:15]
The auction's about to end[00:01:19]
Who's got four just one dollar more[00:01:24]
To bid on this old violin[00:01:28]
Well the air was hot and the people stood around[00:01:43]
As the sun was setting low[00:01:47]
And from the back of the crowd a gray haired man came forward[00:01:51]
And picked up the bow[00:01:57]
He wiped the dust from the old violin[00:02:00]
And he tightened up the strings[00:02:05]
And then he played out a melody pure and sweet[00:02:11]
Sweeter than the angels sing[00:02:16]
And then the music stopped[00:02:22]
And the auctioneer with a voice that was quiet and low[00:02:24]
He said what am I bid for this old violin[00:02:30]
And he held it up with a bow[00:02:35]
Then he cried out one give me one thousand[00:02:45]
Who'll make it two[00:02:49]
Only two thousand[00:02:50]
Who'll make it three[00:02:52]
Three thousand twice you know that's a good price[00:02:55]
Who's gonna bid for me[00:03:00]
And the people cried out[00:03:03]
What made the change[00:03:06]
We don't understand[00:03:08]
Then the auctioneer stopped and said with a smile[00:03:14]
It was the touch of the master's hand[00:03:21]
You know there's many a man with his life out of tune[00:03:38]
Battered and scarred with sin[00:03:44]
And he's auctioned cheap to a thankless world much[00:03:47]
Like that old violin[00:03:52]
But then the master comes and the old foolish crowd[00:03:58]
They never understand[00:04:03]
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought[00:04:07]
Just by one touch of the master's hand[00:04:11]
Then he cried out one give me one thousand[00:04:19]
Who'll make it two[00:04:22]
Only two thousand[00:04:24]
Who'll make it three[00:04:26]
Three thousand twice[00:04:29]
You know that's a good price[00:04:30]
Come on who's gonna bid for me[00:04:33]
And the people cried out[00:04:37]
What made the change[00:04:39]
We don't understand[00:04:42]
Then the auctioneer stopped and said with a smile[00:04:48]
It was the touch[00:04:56]
It was the touch of the master's hand[00:05:03]
