Dear sir i write this note to you to tell you of my plight[00:00:00]

For at the time of writing i am not a pretty sight[00:00:06]

My body is all black and blue my face a deathly grey[00:00:11]

And i write this note to say why paddy's not at work today[00:00:17]

Whilst working on the fourteenth floor some bricks i had to clear[00:00:23]

To throw them down from such a height was not a good idea[00:00:29]

The foreman wasn't very pleased the bloody awkward sod[00:00:34]

He said i had to cart them down the ladders in my hod[00:00:41]

Now clearing all these bricks by hand it was so very slow[00:00:47]

So i hoisted up a barrel and secured the rope below[00:00:52]

But in my haste to do the job i was too blind to see[00:00:58]

That a barrel full of building bricks was heavier than me[00:01:04]

And so when i untied the rope the barrel fell like lead[00:01:10]

And clinging tightly to the rope i started up instead[00:01:16]

I shot up like a rocket till my dismay i found[00:01:22]

That half way up i met the bloody barrel coming down[00:01:29]

The barrel broke my shoulder as to the ground it sped[00:01:36]

And when i reached the top i banged the pulley with my head[00:01:41]

I clung on tightly numb with shock from this almighty blow[00:01:47]

And the barrel spilled out half the bricks fourteen floors below[00:01:54]

Now when these bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floor[00:02:01]

I then outweighed the barrel and so started down once more[00:02:07]

Still clinging tightly to the rope my body racked with pain[00:02:13]

When half way down i met the bloody barrel once again[00:02:20]

The force of this collision half way up the office block[00:02:27]

Caused multiple abrasions and a nasty state of shock[00:02:33]

Still clinging tightly to the rope i fell towards the ground[00:02:39]

And i landed on the broken bricks the barrel scattered round[00:02:46]

I lay there groaning on the ground i thought i'd passed the worst[00:02:53]

But the barrel hit the pulley wheel and then the bottom burst[00:02:58]

A shower of bricks rained down on me i hadn't got a hope[00:03:05]

As i lay there bleeding on the ground i let go the bloody rope[00:03:12]

The barrel then being heavier then started down once more[00:03:19]

And landed right across me as i lay upon the floor[00:03:25]

It broke three ribs and my left arm and i can only say[00:03:32]

That i hope you'll understand why paddy's not at work today[00:03:40]
