Canadian Rose - Blues Traveler[00:00:00]
Written by:John Popper [00:00:01]
Autumn air it carries me there[00:00:14]
Less than an hour to go[00:00:17]
Six hundred miles an hour[00:00:20]
And still it feels so slow[00:00:23]
I'm trying to get back to Burlington[00:00:27]
To a square in the center of town[00:00:30]
To a spot on a wooden table[00:00:33]
Where her feet didn't reach the ground[00:00:36]
And when she kisses me it tasted like cinnamon[00:00:39]
And her skin smells of cider and rose[00:00:42]
And when she looked at me we both got quiet[00:00:45]
And my heart beats so hard we were in so close[00:00:48]
Once for such a beautiful while that still makes me smile[00:00:53]
And she called me her ugly American[00:00:58]
And I would call her my Canadian flower[00:01:02]
And I don't think that we'll ever get there again[00:01:05]
We had such power[00:01:08]
And she would call me her ugly American[00:01:12]
And I'll remember my Canadian rose[00:01:15]
Especially when the fall comes to Burlington[00:01:18]
We were in so close[00:01:21]
I finally made it this town looks rearranged[00:01:38]
I don't know these people anymore[00:01:41]
But in the best ways not much else has changed[00:01:44]
From the way it was before[00:01:47]
And at least they still have this certain table[00:01:51]
Where I once carved a particular name[00:01:54]
I run my finger through the weathered carving[00:01:57]
And I almost can feel the same[00:02:00]
And my mouth it almost tastes just like cinnamon[00:02:03]
As I ponder what my pilgrimage means[00:02:07]
And I try to figure out where Vancouver is from here[00:02:10]
And I listen to the leaves[00:02:13]
If only for a beautiful while that still makes me smile[00:02:17]
And she called me her ugly American[00:02:23]
And I would call her my Canadian flower[00:02:26]
And I don't think that we'll ever get there again[00:02:29]
We had such power[00:02:32]
And she would call me her ugly American[00:02:36]
And I'll remember my Canadian rose[00:02:39]
Especially when the fall comes to Burlington[00:02:43]
We were in so close[00:02:46]
And every single hope and dream I could ever conjure up[00:03:28]
Passionately springs in me and all things are possible[00:03:31]
Plausible and perfectly both of ours forever after and every day[00:03:34]
At least it seemed that way[00:03:38]
Once for such a beautiful while that still makes me smile[00:03:41]
And she called me her ugly American[00:03:47]
And I would call her my Canadian flower[00:03:51]
And I don't think that we'll ever get there again[00:03:54]
We had such power[00:03:57]
And she would call me her ugly American[00:04:00]
And I'll remember my Canadian rose[00:04:04]
Especially when the fall comes to Burlington[00:04:07]
We were in so close[00:04:10]
