Foggy Dew - ProSound Tribute Band[00:00:00]
As down the glen one Easter morn[00:00:11]
To a city fair rode I[00:00:16]
There Armed lines of marching men[00:00:21]
In squadrons passed me by[00:00:26]
No fife did hum nor battle drum did sound[00:00:31]
It's dread tatoo[00:00:37]
But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell rang[00:00:40]
Out through the foggy dew[00:00:46]
Right proudly high over Dublin Town[00:00:50]
They hung out the flag of war[00:00:55]
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky[00:01:00]
Than at Sulva or Sud El Bar[00:01:05]
And from the plains of Royal Meath[00:01:09]
Strong men came hurrying through[00:01:14]
While Britannia's Huns with their long range[00:01:19]
Guns sailed in through the foggy dew[00:01:23]
'Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go[00:01:29]
That small nations might be free[00:01:33]
But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves[00:01:38]
Or the shore of the Great North Sea[00:01:43]
Oh had they died by Pearse's side or fought[00:01:48]
With Cathal Brugha[00:01:53]
Their names we will keep where the fenians[00:01:57]
Sleep 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew[00:02:01]
But the bravest fell and the requiem bell rang[00:02:07]
Mournfully and clear[00:02:12]
For those who died that Eastertide[00:02:16]
In the springing of the year[00:02:21]
And the world did gaze in deep amaze [00:02:25]
At those fearless men but few[00:02:30]
Who bore the fight that freedom's light[00:02:35]
Might shine through the foggy dew[00:02:40]
