Shade Of Gray (灰色阴影) (Live) - Robert Earl Keen (罗伯特·伯爵基恩)[00:00:00]
Written by:Robert Earl Keen[00:00:00]
We made Oklahoma a little after 3[00:00:10]
Randy his brother Bob and my old GMC[00:00:14]
We had some moonshine whisky[00:00:18]
So Bob's homegrown[00:00:20]
We were so messed up we didn't know[00:00:22]
If we were drunk or stoned[00:00:24]
Randy was a sad sack tall kinda frail[00:00:28]
Bob was a raving maniac crazy in the head[00:00:31]
They been kicked out of high school several years ago[00:00:35]
For pushing over port a cans at the 4h rodeo[00:00:39]
Since then they've done their little dance[00:00:43]
Right outside the law[00:00:45]
Popped twice in Oklahoma once in Arkansas[00:00:47]
And I don't know what possessed me[00:00:52]
To want to tag along[00:00:53]
Cause I was raised a Christian[00:00:55]
And I knew right from wrong[00:00:57]
Right or wrong black or white[00:01:01]
Cross the line you're gonna pay[00:01:05]
In the dawn before the light[00:01:09]
Live and die by the shades of gray[00:01:13]
We stole two Charolais heifers from[00:01:21]
Randy's sweetheart's paw[00:01:24]
Sold them at the livestock sale[00:01:25]
Outside of Wichita[00:01:27]
We got 900 and never did suspect[00:01:29]
The world of hurt we'd be in once[00:01:33]
We cashed that check[00:01:36]
Next day we heard the story[00:01:37]
On the local radio[00:01:39]
Made our plans that very night[00:01:41]
To go to Mexico[00:01:43]
I swear we would have made it[00:01:45]
If it wasn't for that shine[00:01:47]
I got sick about the time we crossed[00:01:49]
That kansas line[00:01:52]
Right or wrong black or white[00:01:55]
Cross the line you're gonna pay[00:01:58]
In the dawn before the light[00:02:03]
Live and die by the shades of gray[00:02:07]
I was laying in the bar ditch[00:02:18]
Praying I would die[00:02:20]
When a light come on above us[00:02:22]
And a voice come from the sky[00:02:24]
A half a dozen unmarked cars[00:02:26]
Came screeching to a halt[00:02:28]
They grabbed Bob he started screaming[00:02:30]
It was all my fault[00:02:32]
There were men and dogs[00:02:34]
And helicopter buzzing all around[00:02:35]
They had the brothers on the[00:02:37]
Pickup hood and me down on the ground[00:02:39]
Bob flew all to pieces but randy he[00:02:42]
Held tight when a black man in a[00:02:45]
Suit and tie stepped out into the light[00:02:47]
He told his men to turn us loose[00:02:50]
They put down their guns[00:02:52]
He said these are just to[00:02:54]
Sorry kids they ain't the ones[00:02:55]
Right or wrong black or white[00:03:00]
Cross the line you're gonna pay[00:03:04]
In the dawn before the light[00:03:08]
Live and die by the shades of gray[00:03:12]
They left us by the roadside[00:03:20]
Down hearted and alone[00:03:22]
Randy got behind the wheel[00:03:24]
Said boys I'm going home[00:03:26]
We turned around to face our fate[00:03:28]
Downhearted but alive on that[00:03:30]
Morning in late April Oklahoma 1995[00:03:32]
Right or wrong black or white[00:03:38]
Cross the line you're gonna pay[00:03:42]
In the dawn before the light[00:03:46]
Live and die by the shades of gray[00:03:50]
Live and die by the shades of gray[00:03:54]
Live and die by the shades of gray[00:03:58]
