The Texas Rangers - Tex Ritter/Tarlton[00:00:00]
Come all you texas rangers wherever you may be[00:00:31]
I'll tell you all my trouble that happened unto me[00:00:37]
Our captain he informs perhaps he thought it right[00:00:44]
Before we reach the station boy you'll surely have to fight[00:00:50]
And when the bugles sounded our captain gave command[00:00:56]
To arms to arms he shouted and by your horses stand[00:01:03]
I saw the smoke arise[00:01:09]
It seem to reach the sky[00:01:12]
The first of that struck me my time had come to die[00:01:16]
I saw the indians coming I heard them give a yell[00:01:22]
My feelings at that moment no tongue can never tell[00:01:28]
I saw their glittering lances their arrows around me flew[00:01:35]
And all my strength that left me and all my courage too[00:01:41]
We fought atleast nine hours before the strife was ore[00:01:48]
The like of dead and wounded I never saw before[00:01:54]
And when the sun was risen and the Indians they had fled[00:02:01]
We loaded up our rifles and counted up our dead[00:02:07]
And all of us were wounded our noble captain slain[00:02:14]
And the sun was shining across the bloody plain[00:02:20]
Sixteen brave rangers has ever roamed the west[00:02:27]
Were buried by the comrades with the arrows in their breast[00:02:33]
I have seen the fruits of rumblin'[00:02:39]
I know it's hardships well[00:02:43]
I've crossed the rocky mountain[00:02:46]
I know the streets so well[00:02:49]
I have in the great south west[00:02:52]
Where the wild patches roam[00:02:56]
And I'll tell you from experience you had better stay at home[00:02:59]
