Buffalo Skinners - Cisco Houston[00:00:00]
Come all you old time cowboys[00:00:03]
And listen to my song[00:00:05]
Please do not grow weary[00:00:09]
I'll not detain you long[00:00:13]
Concerning some wild cowboys[00:00:17]
Who did agree to go[00:00:21]
And spend the Summer pleasant[00:00:24]
On the range of the buffalo[00:00:27]
Well I found myself in Griffin in 1883[00:00:32]
When a well known famous[00:00:39]
Drover come walkin' up to me[00:00:40]
He said how do you do[00:00:46]
Young feller[00:00:47]
And how'd you like to go[00:00:50]
And spend the Summer pleasant[00:00:53]
On the trail of the buffalo[00:00:56]
Well me bein' out of work right then[00:01:00]
To that drover I did say[00:01:03]
This goin' out on the buffalo road[00:01:06]
Depends upon your pay[00:01:10]
If you'll pay good wages[00:01:14]
Transportation to and fro[00:01:18]
Well I think I might go with you[00:01:21]
On the range of the buffalo[00:01:24]
Yes I will pay good wages[00:01:28]
And transportation too[00:01:30]
If you'll agree to work for me[00:01:34]
Until the season's through[00:01:37]
But if you do grow homesick[00:01:41]
And try to run away[00:01:44]
You'll starve to death out on the trail[00:01:47]
And you'll also lose your pay[00:01:50]
Well with all this flatterin' talkin'[00:01:56]
Well he signed up quite a train[00:01:59]
Some ten or twelve in number[00:02:03]
All able bodied men[00:02:07]
Our trip it was a pleasant one[00:02:11]
As we hit the westward road[00:02:14]
Until we struck old Boggy Creek[00:02:17]
In old New Mexico[00:02:21]
Well here our pleasures ended[00:02:25]
And our troubles all begun[00:02:28]
When a lightin' storm hit us[00:02:31]
And it made the cattle run[00:02:35]
We got all full of stickers[00:02:39]
From the cactus that did grow[00:02:42]
And the outlaws waitin'[00:02:46]
To pick us off in old New Mexico[00:02:47]
Well our workin' season ended[00:02:54]
But that drover would not pay[00:02:57]
He said you went and drunk too much[00:03:02]
You're all in debt to me[00:03:05]
But the cowboys never had heard[00:03:10]
Of such a thing as a bankrupt law[00:03:14]
So we left that drover's bones[00:03:17]
To bleach on the range of the buffalo[00:03:19]
