The Hand that Signed the Paper - Richard Burton[00:00:00]
The hand that signed the paper felled a city;[00:00:01]
Five sovereign fingers taxed the breath [00:00:05]
Doubled the globe of[00:00:09]
Dead and halved a country;[00:00:10]
These five kings did a king to death [00:00:13]
The mighty hand leads to a sloping shoulder [00:00:18]
The finger joints are cramped with chalk;[00:00:21]
A goose's quill has put an end to murder[00:00:24]
That put an end to talk [00:00:28]
The hand that signed the treaty bred a fever [00:00:32]
And famine grew and locusts came;[00:00:35]
Great is the hand that holds dominion over[00:00:38]
Man by a scribbled name [00:00:41]
The five kings count the dead but do not soften[00:00:45]
The crusted wound nor pat the brow;[00:00:48]
A hand rules pity as a hand rules heaven;[00:00:54]
Hands have no tears to flow[00:00:58]
