The Ballad of N.A.T.O.

The Ballad of N.A.T.O. - The Tossers[00:00:00]

You say you're telling me right now[00:00:17]

Of how you think that it should be[00:00:19]

By the hand of Democratic law[00:00:21]

And the hand of decency[00:00:23]

But your raging you won't talk law[00:00:25]

To me or tell me any stand[00:00:26]

You're pointing all the fingers[00:00:28]

But refuse to shake the hand[00:00:30]

Instead of sitting content in your ideals and your laws[00:00:32]

You have to tell me what you see[00:00:35]

Cause I can't see a lot[00:00:38]

But I see how Democratic your law is[00:00:39]

When it's revised and necessarily changed[00:00:41]

The Irish were arrested without warrants[00:00:42]

Because they were soldiers armed and estranged[00:00:44]

All's fair in love and war[00:00:46]

Then they were tried without jury[00:00:48]

The act said fear of jurors death threats[00:00:49]

Also no people could object to thee[00:00:52]

They were arrested under special laws[00:00:53]

And tried in diplock juries[00:00:55]

But when asked by Amnesty or other countries[00:00:57]

They were criminalized as terrorists[00:00:59]

So you could ignore political talks[00:01:00]

And ignore political struggling[00:01:02]

So you can hold onto your colony without political juggling[00:01:03]

So you sat firm and quiet in your country[00:01:07]

And morals and common law promoting[00:01:09]

But Nationalists kept coming[00:01:11]

Bombs and people kept exploding[00:01:12]

The Somazas crushed Nicaragua[00:01:29]

The Falklands Angola and Nambia South Africa[00:01:30]

They fought you tooth and nail[00:01:32]

Till they were crushed or you gave up[00:01:34]

You're not a Democracy[00:01:36]

You're a Capitalist empire that colonizes weaker lands[00:01:37]

And taxes natural resource[00:01:40]

Oil diamonds copper exchanging hands[00:01:41]

You put in Democratic so called governments[00:01:42]

As heads of the state[00:01:46]

That are willing to adhere to your bidding[00:01:47]

And reap measly profits from their state[00:01:49]

And you colonize them with phone companies[00:01:50]

Hotels McDonalds and Nike plants[00:01:52]

And erect military bases under the pretense of defense[00:01:54]

But the truth is its defense from revolution[00:01:57]

In case the poor rise up[00:01:59]

Against the governments you've helped to empower[00:02:01]

And make the final stop[00:02:03]

Then you called them a communist menace[00:02:05]

And stage and attack from your own bases[00:02:06]

Then the government death squads destroy their empty faces[00:02:08]

You sent embargos on countries[00:02:12]

Who don't agree or finally do revolt[00:02:13]

A free country can't sell their natural resource[00:02:15]

On a global free market vote[00:02:17]

The countries that sit in the N A T O seats[00:02:19]

Are the same domineering five[00:02:21]

And the butchers they empower[00:02:22]

Keep the rest of the seats alive[00:02:23]

And the countries ostracized by embargo[00:02:26]

That form the rest of the world[00:02:28]

Were forced to form a non-aligned organization[00:02:30]

A union[00:02:31]

So they could be heard[00:02:32]

You call this a free market and your system Democratic[00:02:33]

But it's now a taxing empire that[00:02:36]

Sends its shots out dead sporatic[00:02:38]

Well you can take my contentment my sense of security[00:03:23]

You can beat me from head to toe[00:03:25]

Till I bleed[00:03:27]

You can starve me or freeze me[00:03:28]

Because it's all the same to me[00:03:29]

Because in my mind I know I want to be free[00:03:30]

You sent your psychologist to evaluate me[00:03:32]

And give a report to the paper to read[00:03:33]

I'm more stable than he is I'm beginning to see[00:03:35]

In this frustration of war it's one purpose I see[00:03:37]

I know of your tactics to break people like me[00:03:39]

Separate love forever I'm refused being seen[00:03:41]

In the maze of our memories we live there you see[00:03:42]

In our minds we are together and forever we'll be[00:03:44]

You can murder my land make the skylarks scream[00:03:46]

Just to tell your provincials you'd not turn on them[00:03:48]

Your possessive ego crushes my friends and me[00:03:50]

But I know in my mind that I want to be free[00:03:51]

You fought Ireland as an organized army[00:03:53]

You fought them as a country[00:03:55]

But they fought you as a people[00:03:56]

And you were oblivious as to which serf was defending[00:03:58]

If you act like rats you get treated like this[00:04:01]

But now you are rebutting[00:04:03]

Because we stood like a rock when for tactics[00:04:04]

And answers like rats you were scrambling[00:04:06]

What to report in the media to tell to those to which you lied[00:04:07]

When Angolans and Serbs and Chinese and Nicaraguans[00:04:11]

And Zapatistas and Iranians and Cubans and Irish are[00:04:14]

Always the ones who have died[00:04:16]
