[00:00:00] The Story of the First Christmas - Perry Como [00:00:11] Hi boys and girls i am Perry Como [00:00:14] And I'd like to tell you the most wonderful [00:00:16] Story in the whole world [00:00:19] The Story of the First Christmas [00:00:23] Now suppose you make believe [00:00:24] This is many many years ago [00:00:26] A long time before you were born [00:00:28] You're standing on a hillside [00:00:30] Near a little town in Palestine [00:00:33] Do you see the man in the distance [00:00:34] Walking slowly leading a donkey [00:00:37] His name is Joseph [00:00:40] And riding on the donkey is Mary [00:00:42] They've come a long long way [00:00:44] And they're heading for a little [00:00:46] Town near the hillside [00:00:46] On which we're standing [00:00:48] Something very special will happen [00:00:51] In this little town tonight [00:00:53] For this is the little town of Bethlehem [00:00:57] Oh little town of Bethlehem [00:01:09] How still we see thee lie [00:01:15] Above thy deep and dreamless sleep [00:01:22] The silent stars go by [00:01:29] Yet in thy dark streets shineth [00:01:35] The everlasting light [00:01:41] The hopes and fears of all the years [00:01:49] Are met in thee tonight [00:02:02] Let's follow Joseph and Mary [00:02:03] Nto the town of Bethlehem [00:02:05] It's getting dark and all of [00:02:07] The rooms at the Inn are taken [00:02:09] So they could spend the night at a stable [00:02:12] Now I told you something special was [00:02:14] Gonna happen and it did [00:02:17] A baby boy is born to Mary [00:02:20] They call him Jesus [00:02:23] They have no baby's crib so [00:02:25] Mary puts little Jesus to sleep [00:02:27] In the soft sweet hay of a manger [00:02:31] Come come come to the manger [00:02:35] Little Lord Jesus is born on this day [00:02:43] Jesus is asleep in the manger [00:02:46] So let's tiptoe out to the [00:02:48] Hillside near Bethlehem [00:02:49] Where the Shepherds are tending their flock [00:02:51] All at once the Shepherds are frightened [00:02:53] You'd be frightened too [00:02:54] Because a great light [00:02:55] Suddenly shines in the sky [00:02:58] Even the animals are hushed and still [00:03:06] But then you hear the voice of an Angel of the Lord [00:03:09] And you're no longer frightened [00:03:12] For the Angel brings good news [00:03:15] News of a Saviour born this day [00:03:18] News of Christ the Lord [00:03:21] The First Noel the Angels did say [00:03:28] Was to certain poor Shepherds [00:03:32] In fields as they lay [00:03:35] Noel Noel Noel Noel [00:03:42] Born is the King of Israel [00:04:00] Now boys and girls [00:04:01] Now you believe [00:04:03] Well we're still with the Shepherds [00:04:04] On the hillside near Bethlehem [00:04:07] The Shepherds ask the Angel [00:04:09] Where to find the Christ-child [00:04:11] And the Angel tells them to go to the manger [00:04:14] And as they leave [00:04:15] The sky is filled with other Angels singing [00:04:18] Glory to God And on Earth Peace Goodwill to Men [00:04:26] The Shepherds hurry to the manger [00:04:28] Fall on their knees before the baby [00:04:30] And they worship him [00:04:32] For He is Christ the Lord [00:04:36] Oh Come all ye faithful [00:04:40] Joyful and triumphant [00:04:44] Oh Come ye Oh Come ye to Bethlehem [00:04:54] Come and behold Him [00:04:58] Born the King of Angels [00:05:03] Oh Come let us adore Him [00:05:07] Oh Come let us adore Him [00:05:12] Oh Come let us adore Him [00:05:18] Christ the Lord [00:05:26] And now look up into the sky [00:05:29] Do you see that bright star [00:05:30] Twinkling in the heavens [00:05:32] Far away three men are [00:05:33] Looking at that star just as we are [00:05:36] They're riding on camels [00:05:37] And they're using the star [00:05:39] As a guide to lead them to the Christ-child [00:05:42] Who are these three men who follow the star [00:05:46] Let's find out [00:05:48] We Three Kings of Orient are [00:05:52] Bearing gifts we traverse afar [00:05:55] Field and fountain moor and mountain 404
