[00:00:22] Now I have a story that I'd like to tell
[00:00:25] About this guy you all know he had me scared as hell
[00:00:28] He comes to me at night after I crawl into bed
[00:00:31] He's burnt up like the weenie and his name is Fred
[00:00:34] He wears the same hat and sweater every single day
[00:00:36] And even if it's hot outside he wears it anyway
[00:00:39] He's home when I'm awake but he shows up when I sleep
[00:00:42] I can't believe that there's a nightmare on my street
[00:00:56] It was a Saturday evening if I remember it right
[00:00:59] And we had just gotten back off tour last night
[00:01:02] So the gang and I thought that it would be groovy
[00:01:05] If we summoned up the posse and done rushed the movie
[00:01:07] I got Angie Jeff got Tina
[00:01:10] Ready rock got some girl I'd never seen in my life
[00:01:14] That was alright because the lady was chill
[00:01:16] Then we dipped to the theater set to ill
[00:01:19] Buggin' cold havin' a ball
[00:01:21] And somethin' about Elm St was the movie we saw
[00:01:24] The way it started was decent you know nuthin' real fancy
[00:01:27] About this homeboy named Fred and this girl named Nancy
[00:01:30] But word when it was over I said yo that was def
[00:01:33] And everything seemed all right when we left
[00:01:35] But when I got home and laid down to sleep
[00:01:38] That began the nightmare on my street
[00:01:53] It was burning in my room like an oven
[00:01:55] My bed soaked with sweat and man I was bugging
[00:01:58] I checked the clock and it stopped at 12:30
[00:02:01] It had melted it was so darn hot and I was thirsty
[00:02:04] I wanted something cool to quench my thirst
[00:02:07] I thought to myself yo this heaters the worst
[00:02:09] But when I got downstairs I noticed something was wrong
[00:02:12] I was home all alone but the TV was on
[00:02:15] I thought nothin' off it as I grabbed the remote
[00:02:18] I pushed the power button and then I almost choked
[00:02:20] When I heard this awful voice coming from behind It said
[00:02:24] "You got my favorite letter but now you must die"
[00:02:26] Man I ain't even wait to see who it was
[00:02:29] Broke inside my drawers and screamed "So long 'cuz"
[00:02:31] Got halfway up the block I calmed down and stopped screaming
[00:02:36] Then thought "Oh I get it I must be dreaming"
[00:02:38] I strolled back home with a grin on my grill
[00:02:40] I think that since this is a dream I might as well get ill
[00:02:43] I walked in the house the Big Bad Fresh Prince
[00:02:46] But Freddy killed all that noise real quick
[00:02:49] He grabbed me by my neck and said
[00:02:51] "Here's what we'll do we gotta lotta work here
[00:02:53] Me and you the souls of your friends you and I will claim
[00:02:58] You've got the body and I've got the brain"
[00:03:00] I said "Yo Fred I think you got me all wrong
[00:03:03] I ain't partners with nobody with nails that long
[00:03:06] Look I'll be honest man this team won't work
[00:03:09] The girls won't be on you Fred your face is all burnt"
[00:03:12] Fred got mad and his head started steaming
[00:03:14] But I've thought what the hell I'm only dreamin'
[00:03:17] I said please leave Fred so I can get some sleep
[00:03:20] But give me a call maybe we'll hang out next week
[00:03:23] I patted him on the shoulder said "Thanks for stopping by"
[00:03:25] Then I opened up the door and said "Take care guy"
[00:03:28] He got mad drew back his arm and slashed my shirt
[00:03:31] I laughed at first then thought "Hold up that hurt"
[00:03:34] It wasn't a dream man this guy was for real
[00:03:37] I said "Freddy uh pal there's been an awful mistake here"
[00:03:40] No further words and then I darted upstairs
[00:03:42] Crashed through my door then jumped on my bed
