[00:00:26] Now I have a story that I'd like to tell
[00:00:29] About this guy you all know
[00:00:30] He had me scared as hell
[00:00:32] He comes to me at night after I crawl into bed
[00:00:34] He's burnt up like a weenie and his name is Fred
[00:00:37] He wears the same hat and sweater every single day
[00:00:40] And even if it's hot outside he wears it anyway
[00:00:43] He's home when I'm awake
[00:00:44] But he shows up when I sleep
[00:00:46] I can't believe that there's a nightmare on my street
[00:01:00] It was a Saturday evening if I remember it right
[00:01:02] And we had just gotten back off tour last night
[00:01:05] So the gang and I thought that it would be groovy
[00:01:08] If we summoned up the posse
[00:01:10] And done rushed the movie
[00:01:12] I got Angie Jeff got Tina
[00:01:14] Ready Rock got some girl I'd never seen in my life
[00:01:17] That was all right because the lady was chill
[00:01:19] Then we dipped to the theater set to ill
[00:01:22] I'll buggin cold havin a ball
[00:01:25] Somethin about Elm st was the movie we saw
[00:01:28] The way it started was decent you know nuthin real fancy
[00:01:30] About this homeboy named fred and this girl named nancy
[00:01:34] But word when it was over I said yo that was def
[00:01:37] And everything seemed
[00:01:37] All right when we left
[00:01:39] But when I got home and laid down to sleep
[00:01:42] That began the nightmare on my street
[00:01:57] It was burning in my room like an oven
[00:01:59] My bed soaked with sweat
[00:02:00] And man I was bugging
[00:02:02] I checked the clock and it stopped at 12:30
[00:02:05] It had melted it was so darn hot And I was thirsty
[00:02:08] I wanted something cool to quench my thirst
[00:02:10] I thought to myself yo this heat is the worst
[00:02:13] But when I got downstairs
[00:02:14] I noticed something was wrong
[00:02:16] I was home all alone but the tv was on
[00:02:19] I thought nothin off it as I grabbed the remote
[00:02:21] I pushed the power button and then I almost choked
[00:02:24] When I heard this awful voice coming from behind It said
[00:02:27] "You turned off David Letterman now you must die "
[00:02:30] Man I ain't even wait to see who it was Broke
[00:02:33] Inside my drawers and screamed "So long cuz"
[00:02:36] Got halfway up the block I calmed down and stopped screaming
[00:02:39] Then thought "Oh I get it I must be dreaming"
[00:02:41] I strolled back home with a grin on my grill
[00:02:44] I think that since this is a dream I might as well get ill
[00:02:47] I walked in the house the Big Bad Fresh Prince
[00:02:50] But Freddy killed all that noise real quick
[00:02:53] He grabbed me by my neck and said
[00:02:55] "Here's what we'll do We gotta lotta work here
[00:02:57] Me and you The souls of your friends you and
[00:03:00] I will claim You've got the body and I've got the brain"
[00:03:04] I said "Yo Fred I think you got me all wrong
[00:03:06] I ain't partners with nobody with nails that long
[00:03:09] Look I'll be honest man this team won't work
[00:03:12] The girls won't be on you Fred your face is all burnt"
[00:03:15] Fred got mad and his head started steaming
[00:03:18] But I thought what the hell i'm only dreamin
[00:03:20] I said please leave Fred so I can get some sleep
[00:03:23] But give me a call maybe we'll hang out next week
[00:03:26] I patted him on the shoulder
[00:03:28] Said "thanks for stopping by"
[00:03:29] Then I opened up the door and said "take care guy"
[00:03:32] He got mad drew back his arm and slashed my shirt
[00:03:35] I laughed at first then thought "hold up
[00:03:37] That hurt" It wasn't a dream man this guy was for real
[00:03:40] I said "Freddy uh pal there's been an awful mistake here"
[00:03:43] No further words and then I darted upstairs
[00:03:46] Crashed through my door then jumped on my bed
[00:03:49] Pulled the covers up over my head And said
[00:03:52] "Oh please do something with Fred"
[00:03:54] He jumped on my bed went through the covers with his claws
