Me And My Uncle (我和我叔叔) (Live, June 26/28, 1974) - Grateful Dead (感恩而死)[00:00:00]
Written by:John Phillips[00:00:02]
Me and my uncle went riding down[00:00:03]
South colorado west texas bound[00:00:07]
We stopped over in santa fe[00:00:11]
That being the point just about half way[00:00:15]
Then you know it was the hottest part of the day[00:00:20]
I took the horses up to the stall[00:00:25]
Went to the barroom ordered drinks for all[00:00:29]
Three days in the saddle you know my body hurt[00:00:33]
It being summer I took off my shirt[00:00:37]
And I tried to wash off some of that dusty dirt[00:00:41]
When texas cowboys they's all around[00:00:47]
With liquor and money they loaded down[00:00:50]
So soon after payday know it seemed a shame[00:00:54]
You know my uncle he starts a friendly game[00:00:58]
High-low jack and the winner take the hand[00:01:03]
My uncle starts winning cowboys got sore[00:01:30]
One of them called him and then two more[00:01:34]
Accused him of cheating oh no it couldn't be[00:01:38]
I know my uncle he's as honest as me[00:01:41]
And I'm as honest as a denver man can be[00:01:46]
That's real[00:01:48]
One of them cowboys he starts to draw[00:01:51]
When I shot him down lord he never saw[00:01:55]
Shot me another oh damn he won't grow old[00:01:59]
In the confusion my uncle grabbed the gold[00:02:03]
And we high-tailed it down to Mexico[00:02:07]
And I love those cowboys I love their gold[00:02:13]
I loved my uncle God rest his soul[00:02:17]
Taught me good lord taught me all I know[00:02:21]
Taught me so well I grabbed that gold[00:02:25]
And I left his dead a** there by the side of the road[00:02:29]
