Ludlow Massacre - Arlo Guthrie (阿洛·古利)[00:00:00]
It was early springtime when the strike was on[00:00:04]
They drove us miners out of doors[00:00:09]
Out from the houses that the company owned[00:00:13]
We moved into tents up at old ludlow[00:00:18]
I was worried bad about our children[00:00:24]
Soldiers guarding the railroad bridge[00:00:29]
Every once in a while a bullet would fly[00:00:33]
Kick up gravel under my feet[00:00:38]
We were so afraid that would kill our children[00:00:43]
We dug us a cave that was seven foot deep[00:00:48]
And carried our young ones and pregnant women[00:00:53]
Down inside the cave to sleep[00:00:57]
That very night your soldiers waited[00:01:03]
Until all us miners were asleep[00:01:08]
You snick around our little tent town[00:01:12]
Soaked our tents with your kerosene[00:01:17]
You struck a match and in the blaze that started[00:01:23]
You pulled the triggers of your Gatling guns[00:01:28]
I made a run for the children but the fire wall stopped me[00:01:32]
Thirteen children died from your guns[00:01:37]
I carried my blanket to a wire fence corner[00:01:43]
Watched the fire till the blaze died down[00:01:47]
And I helped some people drag their belongings[00:01:52]
While your bullets killed us all around[00:01:57]
I never will forget the look on the faces[00:02:02]
Of the men and women that awful day[00:02:07]
We stood around to preach their funerals[00:02:12]
And lay the corpses of the dead away[00:02:17]
We told the Colorado governor to call the president[00:02:22]
Tell him to call off his national guard[00:02:27]
But the national guard belonged to the governor[00:02:32]
So he didn't try so very hard[00:02:36]
Our women from Trinidad hauled some potatoes[00:02:42]
Up to Walsenburg in a little cart[00:02:47]
They sold their potatoes and brought some guns back[00:02:51]
And they put a gun in every hand[00:02:56]
The state soldiers jumped us in a wire fence corners[00:03:21]
They did not know that we had these guns[00:03:26]
And the red-neck miners mowed down these troopers[00:03:30]
You should have seen those poor boys run[00:03:35]
We took some cement and walled that cave up[00:03:41]
Where you killed these thirteen children inside[00:03:45]
I said god bless the mine workers' union[00:03:50]
Then I hung my head and cried[00:03:55]
