Father's Day(Live from the Vic, Swindon, 6th April 2007) (Live) - Frank Turner (法兰克·透纳)[00:00:00]
Written by:Frank Turner[00:00:00]
When I was sixteen I cut myself a Mohawk[00:00:25]
Because I wanted to walk the walk[00:00:29]
And not just talk the talk[00:00:33]
But it was a bit of a disaster because[00:00:36]
I did the sides with kitchen scissors[00:00:39]
Because I didn't have any clippers[00:00:44]
And I didn't want to use a beard trimmer[00:00:47]
I'd made that mistake before[00:00:51]
When you got home you didn't want to talk about what I'd done[00:00:54]
You said I'd let you down I'd f**ked around when I was only having fun[00:01:00]
With the way that you've been lately you've no right to scream and shout[00:01:07]
You and I we've got a lot that we need to talk about[00:01:15]
What's the point in making vows that you're never going to keep[00:01:25]
A lifetime lying awake means you'll never get to sleep[00:01:33]
And all the promises you made that were painful and untrue[00:01:40]
Of all the things you do they reflect worst on you[00:01:48]
We all have our own devices[00:02:10]
For handling mid life crises[00:02:15]
Usually involves a motorbike and[00:02:18]
Suspicious fashion decisions[00:02:22]
But you choose to stave off grey hairs by[00:02:25]
Lamely hacking at the sides[00:02:30]
With lies and flimsy alibis[00:02:33]
For your suspicious expeditions[00:02:37]
When I get home I don't want to talk about what you've done[00:02:40]
Yes you've let me down you've f**ked around but I guess you were having fun[00:02:46]
With the way that I've been lately I've no right to scream and shout[00:02:53]
You and I we've got a lot that we need to talk about[00:03:01]
What's the point in making vows that you're never going to keep[00:03:10]
A lifetime lying awake means you'll never get to sleep[00:03:18]
And all the promises you made that were painful and untrue[00:03:25]
Of all the things you do they reflect worst on you[00:03:33]
You always told me father's day was just another way[00:03:41]
Of selling hallmark greeting cards[00:03:49]
Twenty years of waking sleep of lying through your teeth[00:03:56]
Meant every father's day spent wondering who the hell you really are[00:04:04]
What's the point in us making vows that we're never going to keep[00:04:51]
I keep trying to keep you up but you keep on falling asleep[00:04:58]
And all the promises we made were painful and untrue[00:05:06]
But for better or for worse I am turning into you[00:05:13]
