Brunswick - Weddings Parties Anything[00:00:01]
In the summer all the old men [00:00:05]
They sit on their front porches [00:00:07]
While the women comb[00:00:11]
Their hair shell their peas[00:00:12]
And wonder what they've missed [00:00:15]
And the forlorn children scan the streets[00:00:17]
For wayward dogs with fading torches [00:00:21]
It's no amazing sight [00:00:25]
It's something that I miss [00:00:27]
I still hear the trucks[00:00:31]
As they crunch their gears[00:00:34]
Going through the lanes [00:00:37]
And curse all folk who get stuck in their way[00:00:38]
And the roaring forklift starting up[00:00:44]
At 7am of a weekday morning[00:00:48]
How I cursed them then now[00:00:51]
I see things another way [00:00:54]
And if I see things through a hallowed gaze [00:00:57]
Well is it such a crime [00:01:01]
When I ain't been to[00:01:05]
Brunswick for a long long time [00:01:08]
There was a kind word you could get[00:01:13]
>From the man who ran the milk bar [00:01:16]
And a rough one from the old bloke[00:01:20]
Who lived across the road and though[00:01:23]
The footpaths stank with the refuse[00:01:27]
Of overfed Alsatians [00:01:30]
The air was rife with Tip Top Bread [00:01:33]
The baker's morning load [00:01:37]
And if I see things[00:01:40]
Through a hallowed gaze [00:01:41]
Well is it such a crime [00:01:43]
When I ain't been to[00:01:48]
Brunswick for a long long time [00:01:50]
And there's a cottage I think of [00:01:56]
Sometimes when[00:02:00]
I've been drinking [00:02:02]
And in the bottom of my glass [00:02:05]
I see a life I've missed [00:02:08]
Of summer walks and well trained dogs[00:02:12]
And plenty of time for thinking [00:02:15]
So just don't bother asking why the hell[00:02:18]
I'm always pissed [00:02:22]
But if I see things through a hallowed gaze [00:02:25]
Well is it such a crime [00:02:28]
When I ain't been to Brunswick [00:02:32]
No I ain't been to Brunswick [00:02:37]
I ain't been nowhere near[00:02:40]
It for a long long time[00:02:43]
