The Lady in Black (黑衣女人) - Puhdys[00:00:00]
Written by:Ken Hensley[00:00:01]
She came to me one morning one lonely Sunday morning[00:00:05]
Her long hair flowing in the mid winter's wind[00:00:11]
I know not how she found me for in darkness I was walking[00:00:16]
And destruction lay around me from a fight I could not win[00:00:22]
She asked me name my foe then I said the need within some men[00:00:47]
To fight and kill their brothers without thought of love or God[00:00:52]
And I begged her give me horses to trample down my enemy[00:00:58]
So eager was my passion to devour this waste of life[00:01:03]
But she wouldn't think of battle that reduces men to animals[00:01:20]
So easy to begin and yet impossible to end[00:01:26]
For she the mother of all men had counceled me so wisely that[00:01:31]
I feared to walk alone again and asked if she would stay[00:01:37]
Oh lady lend your hand I cried oh let me rest here at your side[00:01:54]
Have faith and trust in me she said and filled my heart with life[00:01:59]
There's no strength in numbers have no such misconception[00:02:05]
But when you need me be assured I won't be far away[00:02:10]
Thus having spoke she turned away and 'though I found no words to say[00:02:27]
I stood and watched until I saw her black cloak disappear[00:02:32]
My labour is no easier but now I know I'm not alone[00:02:38]
I find new heart each time I think upon that windy day[00:02:43]
And if one day she comes to you drink deeply from her words so wise[00:02:49]
Take courage from her as your prize and say hello from me[00:02:55]
