Psalms 37 - David And The High Spirit[00:00:00]

Chapter 37[00:00:00]

Fret not yourself because of the wicked[00:00:03]

Be not envious of wrongdoers[00:00:06]

For they will soon fade like the grass[00:00:09]

And wither like the green herb[00:00:13]

Trust in the Lord and do good[00:00:16]

So you will dwell in the land and enjoy security[00:00:18]

Take delight in the Lord[00:00:22]

And he will give you the desires of your heart[00:00:24]

Commit your way to the Lord[00:00:28]

Trust in him and he will act[00:00:30]

He will bring forth your vindication as the light[00:00:32]

And your right as the noonday[00:00:36]

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him[00:00:39]

Fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way[00:00:43]

Over the man who carries out evil devices[00:00:47]

Refrain from anger and forsake wrath[00:00:51]

Fret not yourself it tends only to evil[00:00:55]

For the wicked shall be cut off[00:01:00]

But those who wait for the Lord shall possess the land[00:01:02]

Yet a little while and the wicked will be no more[00:01:07]

Though you look well at his place he will not be there[00:01:11]

But the meek shall possess the land[00:01:15]

And delight themselves in abundant prosperity[00:01:18]

The wicked plots against the righteous[00:01:22]

And gnashes his teeth at him[00:01:25]

But the Lord laughs at the wicked[00:01:27]

For he sees that his day is coming[00:01:29]

The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows[00:01:33]

To bring down the poor and needy[00:01:36]

To slay those who walk uprightly[00:01:39]

Their sword shall enter their own heart[00:01:41]

And their bows shall be broken[00:01:45]

Better is a little that the righteous has[00:01:47]

Than the abundance of many wicked[00:01:51]

For the arms of the wicked shall be broken[00:01:53]

But the Lord upholds the righteous[00:01:55]

The Lord knows the days of the blameless[00:01:58]

And their heritage will abide for ever[00:02:01]

They are not put to shame in evil times[00:02:04]

In the days of famine they have abundance[00:02:07]

But the wicked perish[00:02:10]

The enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures[00:02:12]

They vanish like smoke they vanish away[00:02:16]

The wicked borrows and cannot pay back[00:02:20]

But the righteous is generous and gives[00:02:23]

For those blessed by the Lord shall possess the land[00:02:26]

But those cursed by him shall be cut off[00:02:29]

The steps of a man are from the Lord[00:02:35]

And he establishes him in whose way he delights[00:02:37]

Though he fall he shall not be cast headlong[00:02:41]

For the Lord is the stay of his hand[00:02:44]

I have been young and now am old[00:02:48]

Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken[00:02:52]

Or his children begging bread[00:02:55]

He is giving liberally and lending[00:02:57]

And his children become a blessing[00:03:01]

Depart from evil and do good[00:03:03]

So shall you abide for ever[00:03:06]

For the Lord loves justice[00:03:08]

He will not forsake his saints[00:03:10]

The righteous shall be preserved for ever[00:03:14]

But the children of the wicked shall be cut off[00:03:16]

The righteous shall possess the land[00:03:19]

And dwell upon it for ever[00:03:22]

The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom[00:03:24]

And his tongue speaks justice[00:03:28]

The law of his God is in his heart[00:03:30]

His steps do not slip[00:03:33]

The wicked watches the righteous[00:03:36]

And seeks to slay him[00:03:38]

The Lord will not abandon him to his power[00:03:40]

Or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial[00:03:43]

Wait for the Lord and keep to his way[00:03:47]

And he will exalt you to possess the land[00:03:51]

He will look on the destruction of the wicked[00:03:54]

I have seen a wicked man overbearing[00:03:58]

And towering like a cedar of lebanon[00:04:01]

Again I passed by and lo he was no more[00:04:04]

Though I sought him he could not be found[00:04:08]

Mark the blameless man and behold the upright[00:04:11]

For there is posterity for the man of peace[00:04:16]

But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed[00:04:19]

The posterity of the wicked shall be cut off[00:04:24]

The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord[00:04:27]

He is their refuge in the time of trouble[00:04:31]

The Lord helps them and delivers them[00:04:34]

He delivers them from the wicked and saves them[00:04:37]

Because they take refuge in him[00:04:41]
