Galway Bay - Ruby Murray[00:00:00]
Written by:Arthur Colahan[00:00:08]
If you ever go across the sea to ireland[00:00:16]
Then maybe at the closing of your day[00:00:24]
You will sit and watch the moon rise over cladagh[00:00:32]
And see the sun go down on galway bay[00:00:39]
Just to hear again the ripple[00:00:47]
Of the trout stream[00:00:50]
The women in the beadows making hay[00:00:55]
And to sit beside a turf fire in a cabin[00:01:02]
And watch the barefoot gasuns[00:01:10]
At their play[00:01:13]
For the breezes blowing other seas from ireland[00:01:16]
Are perfumed by the heather as they blow[00:01:24]
And the women in the uplands digging pratties[00:01:31]
Speak a language that the strangers[00:01:38]
Do not know[00:01:43]
For the strangers came and tried to teach us their ways[00:01:46]
They scorned us just for being what we are[00:01:53]
But they might as well go chasing after moonbeams[00:02:01]
Or light[00:02:08]
A penny candle[00:02:09]
From a star[00:02:12]
And if there's going to be a life hereafter[00:02:16]
And somehow I am sure there's going to be[00:02:23]
I will ask my god to let me make my heaven[00:02:29]
In that dear land across the irish sea[00:02:37]
