Cowboy In The Continental Suit - Chris Ledoux[00:00:00]
He walked out in the arena all dressed up to[00:00:06]
The brim[00:00:09]
Said he just came down from a place called highland[00:00:11]
Rim[00:00:14]
And he said he came to ride the horse the[00:00:15]
One they called the brute[00:00:18]
But he didn't look like a cowboy in the continental[00:00:19]
Suit[00:00:23]
We snickered at the way he dressed but he never[00:00:25]
Said a word[00:00:28]
Walked on by the rest of us as if he[00:00:30]
Hadn't heard[00:00:33]
A thousand bucks went to the man who could ride[00:00:34]
This wild cayuse[00:00:37]
A meaner horse was never born than the one they[00:00:39]
Called the brute[00:00:42]
The horse that he was lookin' for was in chute[00:00:44]
Number eight[00:00:47]
Walked up very slowly put his hand upon the gate[00:00:49]
We knew he was a purebred when he pulled a[00:00:53]
Sack o' deuce[00:00:56]
From the inside pocket of his continental suit[00:00:58]
He rolled himself a quirly and he lit it standin'[00:01:03]
There[00:01:07]
Blew himself a smoke ring and he watched it disappear[00:01:08]
We thought he must be crazy as he opened up[00:01:12]
The gate[00:01:15]
Standin' just inside was fifteen hundred pounds of hate[00:01:16]
The buckskin tried to run him down but the stranger[00:01:24]
Was too quick[00:01:27]
He stepped aside and threw his arms around the horse's[00:01:29]
Neck[00:01:32]
And he pulled himself upon the back of the horse[00:01:33]
They called the brute[00:01:36]
Sat like he was born there in his continental suit[00:01:37]
The brute's hind end was in the air his front[00:01:43]
End on the ground[00:01:46]
Kickin' and a squealin' tryin' to shake the stranger down[00:01:48]
But the stranger wouldn't give an inch he came to[00:01:52]
Ride the brute[00:01:55]
He came to ride that buckskin in a continental suit[00:01:56]
I turned around to look at Jim but he was[00:02:02]
Watchin' me[00:02:05]
Said I don't believe the crazy things I think I[00:02:06]
See[00:02:10]
But I think I see the outlaw the one they[00:02:10]
Call the brute[00:02:13]
Ridden by a cowboy in a continental suit[00:02:15]
The brute came to a standstill ashamed that he'd been[00:02:23]
Rode[00:02:26]
By some city cowboy in some continental clothes[00:02:27]
The stranger took his money and we don't know where[00:02:31]
He went[00:02:35]
We don't know where he came from and we haven't[00:02:36]
Seen him since[00:02:39]
The moral of this story never judge by what they[00:02:41]
Wear[00:02:45]
Underneath some ragged clothes could be a millionaire[00:02:46]
So everybody listen don't be fooled by this galoot[00:02:50]
Sure enough bronc rider in his continental suit[00:02:55]
