Ossian's Return - Cruachan[00:00:00]
The sky was grey and leaden [00:00:25]
Wolves howling on the wind [00:00:28]
Above the land of the teenno[00:00:32]
The ancient calm still reigned [00:00:35]
"I long to stand on my home shore" [00:00:38]
Said Ossian in a glare [00:00:41]
"But Ossian love this is your home" [00:00:44]
Said Niamh of the golden hair [00:00:48]
She seen the look upon his face [00:00:51]
She knew the pain he felt [00:00:54]
He longed to be home among his race [00:00:57]
With his ring-sword strapped to his belt [00:01:00]
"Return my love to the land of man[00:01:04]
But be warned time rests heavily there [00:01:07]
Come back to me if ever you can [00:01:10]
Back to the land of the fair "[00:01:13]
"Do not dismount from the steed you ride [00:01:42]
From this world it belongs [00:01:43]
If you dismount you shall fall by It's side [00:01:45]
To be remembered only in faerie songs" [00:01:47]
He galloped across the faerie seas [00:01:49]
Back to the land of man [00:01:50]
Watched by the Gods and the Daoine Sdhe [00:01:52]
His life to end as it began [00:01:53]
"I have returned" he said aloud [00:01:55]
But no one was there to hear [00:01:57]
His noble home once bold and proud [00:01:58]
Had crumbled through the many years [00:02:00]
A power had come into the land [00:02:01]
To threaten the olden ways [00:02:03]
The people ignore the ancient Gods [00:02:04]
They bid farewell to a golden age [00:02:06]
Ossian stopped his gallant steed [00:02:46]
He could see some people ahead [00:02:49]
"Help us please our brother are trapped-[00:02:52]
Beneath this dolmen" they said [00:02:56]
He leaned down from his mount [00:02:59]
And gripped the dolmen firm [00:03:02]
From the earth the rocks was freed [00:03:05]
The people beneath unharmed [00:03:08]
But from the strain his saddle broke [00:03:12]
To the earth he was cast [00:03:15]
A cry of pain burst from his throat [00:03:18]
The years now caught him at last [00:03:21]
In Tr Na n-g Niamh shed a tear [00:03:25]
When she saw the rider-less horse [00:03:28]
Ossian was gone her greatest fear [00:03:31]
Her heart was full of deep remorse[00:03:34]
