A Few Thousand Days Ago - Marshall Crenshaw[00:00:00]
Written by:Marshall Crenshaw[00:00:04]
I fell asleep on the train[00:00:08]
With the towering mountains rolling by[00:00:13]
And woke to the sound[00:00:17]
Of thunder crashing in the sky[00:00:21]
The air was ghostly blue[00:00:25]
The mist was rising slow[00:00:30]
It's still a vivid memory[00:00:34]
From a few thousand days ago[00:00:39]
From a few thousand days ago[00:00:43]
As we passed through small quiet towns[00:00:49]
Crossed miles of burning desert sands[00:00:54]
And fields of green and gold[00:00:58]
I began to see and understand[00:01:02]
The wonders great and small[00:01:07]
That this world has to show[00:01:11]
In a way I never had before[00:01:15]
A few thousand days ago[00:01:20]
Just a few thousand days ago[00:01:24]
I had made up my mind[00:01:32]
It was time to let familiar things fall behind[00:01:35]
I was glad to be all alone[00:01:41]
In the middle of the wide unknown[00:01:44]
Through lost empty towns[00:01:48]
Across miles of burning dessert sands[00:01:52]
And fields of green and gold[00:01:57]
I began to feel and understand[00:02:01]
The wonders great and small[00:02:05]
That this world has to show[00:02:10]
Like the promise in a new sunrise[00:02:14]
A few thousand days ago[00:02:19]
A few thousand days ago[00:02:23]
It set my heart and soul at ease[00:02:30]
To hear the silence and the wind through the trees[00:02:34]
I was glad to be all alone[00:02:39]
In the middle of the wide unknown[00:02:42]
I fell asleep on the train[00:02:47]
With the towering mountains rolling by[00:02:51]
And woke to the sound[00:02:55]
Of thunder crashing in the sky[00:03:00]
The air was ghostly blue[00:03:04]
The mist was rising slow[00:03:08]
It's still a vivid memory[00:03:13]
From a few thousand days ago[00:03:17]
From a few thousand days ago[00:03:21]
