第25期人生感悟(5)

第25期人生感悟(5)-英语听力[00:00:00]

A Full-Time School Called Life [00:00:12]

You are enrolled in a full-time school called "life". [00:00:15]

Each day in this school [00:00:20]

you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. [00:00:21]

You may like the lessons or hate them, [00:00:25]

but you have designed them as part of your curriculum. [00:00:28]

Why are you here? [00:00:33]

What is your purpose? [00:00:34]

Humans have sought to discover [00:00:36]

the meaning of life for a very long time. [00:00:38]

What we and our ancestors have to overlook, [00:00:42]

however, is that there is no one answer. [00:00:45]

The meaning of life is different for every individual. [00:00:49]

Each person has his or her [00:00:53]

own purpose and distinct path, [00:00:54]

unique and separate from anyone else's. [00:00:58]

As your travel through your lifetime, [00:01:02]

you may encounter challenging lessons [00:01:05]

that others don't have to face, [00:01:07]

while others spend years struggling with challenges [00:01:10]

that you don't need to deal with. [00:01:13]

You cannot be sure why you struggle financially [00:01:16]

while your peers enjoy abundance. [00:01:19]

The only thing you can count on for certain is [00:01:22]

that you will be presented with all the lessons [00:01:25]

that you specifically need to learn; [00:01:29]

whether you choose to learn them [00:01:31]

or not is entirely up to you. [00:01:33]

The challenge here, therefore, [00:01:37]

is to fit in with your own unique path [00:01:39]

by learning individual lessons. [00:01:42]

This is one of the most difficult challenges [00:01:45]

you will be faced with in your lifetime, [00:01:47]

as sometimes your path will be [00:01:50]

radically different from others. [00:01:53]

But, remember, don't compare your path [00:01:55]

to the people around you [00:01:59]

and focus on the great difference [00:02:00]

between their lessons and yours. [00:02:02]

You need to remember [00:02:06]

that you will only be faced with lessons [00:02:07]

that you are capable of learning [00:02:10]

and are specific to your own growth. [00:02:12]

Our sense of fairness is the expectation of equity, [00:02:16]

the assumption that all things are equal [00:02:21]

and that justice will always prevail. [00:02:23]

Life is not, in fact, fair, [00:02:26]

and you may indeed have a more difficult life path [00:02:29]

than others around you, deserved or not. [00:02:32]

Everyone's circumstances are unique, [00:02:37]

and everyone needs to handle his or her [00:02:40]

own circumstances differently. [00:02:42]

If you want to move toward peace, [00:02:45]

you will be required to move out of [00:02:48]

the complaining phase of "it's not fair". [00:02:51]

Focusing on the unfairness of circumstances [00:02:53]

keeps you comparing yourself with others [00:02:57]

rather than appreciating your own special uniqueness. [00:02:59]

You miss out on learning your individual lessons [00:03:03]

by distracting yourself [00:03:07]

with feelings of bitterness and resentment. [00:03:08]
