Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash[00:00:54]

But a miniature sleigh and eight tinny reindeer[00:01:01]

With a little old driver so lively and quick[00:01:06]

I knew in a moment it must be st nick[00:01:10]

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came[00:01:14]

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name[00:01:17]

So up to the house top the coursers they flew[00:01:42]

And then in a twinkling i heard on the roof[00:01:49]

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof[00:01:54]

He was all dressed in fur from his head to his foot[00:02:02]

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot[00:02:05]

Came with a bound[00:02:14]

His eyes how they twinkled his dimples how merry[00:02:21]

His cheeks were like roses his nose like a cherry[00:02:25]

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow[00:02:29]

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow[00:02:33]

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth[00:02:38]

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath[00:02:41]

He had a broad face and a little round belly[00:02:44]

That shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly[00:02:47]

He was chubby and plump a right jolly old elf[00:02:51]

And i laughed when i saw him in spite of myself[00:02:54]

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head[00:02:58]

Soon gave me to know i had nothing to dread[00:03:01]

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work[00:03:06]

And filled all the stockings then turned with a jerk[00:03:09]

And laying his finger aside of his nose[00:03:13]

And giving a nod up the chimney he rose[00:03:18]

He sprang to his sleigh to his team gave a whistle[00:03:27]

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle[00:03:30]

But i heard him exclaim ere he drove out of sight[00:03:34]
