Darling Jane - John D Loudermilk[00:00:00]
Jane and I'd been married for only a week[00:00:01]
And were honeymooning down off miami beach[00:00:05]
We took our rented cabin crusier way out past the reef[00:00:09]
Doing as we pleased just my Jane and me[00:00:15]
I was on the starboard bow baiting a hook[00:00:32]
Jane was taking a sunbath and reading a book[00:00:40]
And all at once the southern sky grew dark and it started to rain[00:00:47]
The anchor chain began to strain the breeze became a hurricane[00:00:56]
I was panic stricken so I quickly ran below[00:01:14]
And tried to reach the coast guard on the short wave radio[00:01:22]
I sent SOS's but no answer ever came[00:01:29]
I called to Jane but the wind and rain had given Jane to the hurricane[00:01:38]
All night long I searched through roaring waves and driving rain[00:01:56]
And over a hundred mile per hour winds but all in vain[00:02:03]
I was torn and bleeding and I cursed the hurricane[00:02:11]
Used the name of god in vain I was insane from losin' Jane[00:02:20]
Now the morning sun is hot the seas are calm once more[00:02:38]
And the breeze is gentle as I head the boat for shore[00:02:44]
My eyes can't help the crying and my heart can't help the pain[00:02:49]
That's in my brain from losing Jane my everything my darling Jane[00:02:56]
