Space Suits (Live) - Peter,Paul & Mary[00:00:00]
Written by:David Roth[00:00:02]
On the day we're born our soul is placed inside a special spacesuit[00:00:23]
An amazing thing of flesh and bones of fiber tubes and cells[00:00:29]
Each suit is a different size a different shape and color[00:00:35]
And it helps us get about the earth with other types of shells[00:00:40]
Astounding as it seems these suits are built to last a lifetime[00:00:46]
Though the measure of a lifetime seems to change from soul to soul[00:00:51]
Some will last for many years and others but a moment[00:00:58]
Still each suit has been assembled with a purpose and a goal[00:01:03]
The control box for this special suit's located in three places[00:01:20]
And at any given time there's always one that takes the lead[00:01:26]
Causing all the other parts to follow blindly without question[00:01:31]
As they try to give the soul the things it needs[00:01:36]
The head or brain will analyze environmental input[00:01:41]
Using logic rhyme and reason to design the body's plan[00:01:47]
The groin much on the other hand[00:01:53]
Will travel on its instincts[00:01:56]
Hooking one suit to another when it can[00:02:00]
But somewhere in the middle is the most amazing feature[00:02:09]
Often acting as the liaison connecting part to part[00:02:14]
It's the auricle of destiny the pulse of life the center[00:02:19]
It's the thing we have in common called the heart[00:02:28]
On the day we die though certainly it's open for discussion[00:02:43]
I believe the spacesuit has fufilled its earthly chores[00:02:50]
Providing home and shelter for the fragile human spirit[00:02:56]
Till the time when it's not needed anymore[00:03:00]
Then the soul will find another suit[00:03:06]
It's kind of like recycling[00:03:08]
And though the lessons of the mind and of the groin are still in doubt[00:03:11]
It's when we learn to speak and listen firstly from the heart[00:03:17]
That our souls won't need these suits to move about[00:03:23]
Somewhere in the middle is the most amazing feature[00:03:29]
Often acting as the liaison connecting part to part[00:03:34]
No sweeter music ever came from any other organ[00:03:40]
Than the one we have in common[00:03:50]
The one we have in common[00:03:53]
The one we have in common called the heart[00:03:56]
