第29期Converssation3

第29期Converssation3-英语听力[00:00:00]

W: Ah, good morning. [00:00:00]

It's Mr. Robinson, is not it? [00:00:01]

M: Yes. [00:00:03]

W: Have a seat. [00:00:04]

M: Thank you. [00:00:05]

W: OK, I 've got your letter of application. [00:00:06]

Now, as you know, when you apply for a post with our company,[00:00:10]

we need to find out a few things about both your academic [00:00:14]

background and recent work experience. [00:00:17]

M: Sure. [00:00:21]

W: First of all, A levels? [00:00:22]

M: Yes, I 've got three: geography, maths and physics. [00:00:25]

W: Geography, maths and physics. [00:00:30]

OK. [00:00:33]

And what about your degree? [00:00:34]

M: I went to Manchester University and got an engineering degree, [00:00:37]

with water management as my specialization. [00:00:41]

W: Uh huh, I see. [00:00:44]

M: And as for work experience, I started out after graduating in [00:00:46]

1996 in India, working for the Indian government. [00:00:51]

W: Did you work as a volunteer? [00:00:55]

M: No, it was a three year water irrigation project. [00:00:57]

W: That sounds fascinating. [00:01:01]

How did you organize that? [00:01:03]

You say it was not a British company then. [00:01:05]

M: No, no. My university had links with an Indian engineering [00:01:08]

university, so it was organized at that level. [00:01:11]

W: And after that? [00:01:15]

M: Then I came back, moved to Sheffield and had been working [00:01:16]

with Lattimer Engineering since then. [00:01:20]

W: And what exactly are you doing for Lattimer? [00:01:22]

M: Oh, I 'm working in water irrigation again, [00:01:26]

this time as a project research assistant. [00:01:29]

W: Great, I 've got your details. [00:01:32]

Now let's move on to a more general discussion about [00:01:35]

what we are looking for here ... [00:01:39]
