And he looked like a peddler just op'ning his pack[00:02:42]

His eyes how they twinkled his dimples how merry[00:02:47]

His cheeks were like roses his nose like a cherry[00:02:49]

His droll little mouth was drawn up in a bow[00:02:51]

And beard on his chin was as white as the snow[00:02:53]

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth[00:02:56]

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath[00:03:01]

He had a broad face and a little round belly[00:03:05]

That shook when he laughed ho ho ho ho like[00:03:10]

A bowl full of jelly ho ho ho ho[00:03:14]

He was chubby and plump a right jolly old elf[00:03:19]

And I laughed when I saw him in spite of myself[00:03:24]

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head[00:03:28]

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread[00:03:32]

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work[00:03:37]

And filled all the stockings and turned with a jerk[00:03:41]

And laying a finger to the side of his nose[00:03:45]

And giving a nod up the chimney he rose[00:03:50]

He sprang to his sleigh and to his team gave a whistle[00:03:57]

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle[00:04:01]

But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight[00:04:05]
