Thousands Are Sailing - Liam Neeson[00:00:00]
It is the month of September[00:00:24]
in the year 1866[00:00:26]
an english gentleman Edwin war[00:00:29]
who was traveling through the north of Ireland[00:00:32]
road home to his family[00:00:34]
I was at the Baleny station the other day[00:00:42]
when I saw a distressing scene[00:00:44]
a company of start young peasants [00:00:47]
were leaving by the train for Londonderry[00:00:49]
from where they were to take shipping for America[00:00:52]
The whole platform was crowded with their friends and relatives[00:00:55]
all simple rustic folk[00:00:59]
Form hooray headed age leaning upon the staff[00:01:01]
to the unconscious infant crowing in his mather’s arms[00:01:05]
The parting scene was painfully tarting[00:01:09]
Every eye was drowned in tears[00:01:32]
and wild unrestrained cries of affection[00:01:35]
as they embraced each other again and again[00:01:38]
moved even the porters[00:01:41]
to whom such scenes were familiar[00:01:43]
As the train began to move slowly away[00:01:53]
2 or 3 of those upon the platform clungscreaming to the carriage stores[00:01:56]
until dragged away[00:02:02]
And amongst the wild out cry that rows who were left behind[00:02:07]
One poor woman fell back[00:02:12]
upon the seat against the wall[00:02:14]
wailing[00:02:16]
oh my darling my darling[00:02:17]
Whilst an old white headed man hard by[00:02:21]
dropped down on his knees[00:02:24]
with up lifted arms cried[00:02:26]
oh may the hand of bliss of god be about thee[00:02:29]
my own son[00:02:32]
