Born to Win [00:00:17]
Each human being is born as something new, [00:00:19]
something that never existed before. [00:00:23]
Each is born with the capacity to win at life. [00:00:27]
Each person has a unique way of seeing, [00:00:33]
hearing, touching, tasting and thinking. [00:00:36]
Each has his or her own unique potentials - [00:00:42]
capabilities and limitations. [00:00:47]
Each can be a significant, thinking, aware, [00:00:50]
and creative being - [00:00:54]
a productive person, a winner. [00:00:57]
The words "winner" and "loser" [00:01:01]
have many meanings. [00:01:04]
When we refer to a person as a winner, [00:01:06]
we do not mean one [00:01:09]
who makes someone else lose. [00:01:11]
To us, a winner is one [00:01:13]
who responds authentically [00:01:16]
by being credible, trustworthy, [00:01:18]
responsive, and genuine, [00:01:21]
both as an individual [00:01:24]
and as a member of a society. [00:01:26]
Winners do not dedicate their lives to a concept [00:01:29]
of what they imagine they should be; [00:01:34]
rather, they are themselves [00:01:36]
and as such do not use their energy [00:01:39]
putting on a performance, [00:01:42]
maintaining pretence and manipulating others. [00:01:43]
They are aware that there is a difference [00:01:48]
between being loving and acting loving, [00:01:51]
between being stupid and acting stupid, [00:01:55]
between being knowledgeable [00:01:59]
and acting knowledgeable. [00:02:01]
Winners do not need to hide behind a mask. [00:02:03]
Winners are not afraid to do their own thinking [00:02:07]
and to use their own knowledge. [00:02:11]
They can separate facts from opinions [00:02:13]
and don't pretend to have all the answers. [00:02:16]
They listen to others, evaluate what they say, [00:02:20]
but come to their own conclusions. [00:02:24]
Winners do not play "helpless", [00:02:28]
nor do they play the blaming game. [00:02:31]
Instead, they assume responsibility [00:02:34]
for their own lives. [00:02:37]
They don't give others a false authority over them. [00:02:39]
Winners are their own bosses and know it. [00:02:43]
A winner's timing is right. [00:02:47]
Winners respond appropriately to the situation. [00:02:49]
Winners know that for everything [00:02:54]
there is a season and for every activity a time. [00:02:56]
Although winners can freely enjoy themselves, [00:03:02]
they can also postpone enjoyment, [00:03:05]
can discipline themselves in the present to [00:03:08]
enhance their enjoyment in the future. [00:03:11]
Winners are not afraid to go after what he wants, [00:03:14]
but they do so in proper ways. [00:03:18]
A winner cares about the world and its peoples. [00:03:22]
A winner is not isolated from [00:03:26]
the general problems of society, [00:03:29]
but is concerned, compassionate, [00:03:32]
and committed to improving the quality of life. [00:03:36]
Even in the face of national [00:03:40]
and international adversity, [00:03:42]
a winner's self-image is not one of [00:03:44]
a powerless individual. [00:03:48]
A winner works to make the world a better place. [00:03:51]
