Ballydine - Christy Moore[00:00:00]
As I wandered a broad by Kil sheelan[00:00:05]
Where the river meanders on down[00:00:11]
To my left lay the Comeragh Mountains[00:00:16]
To the right of me [F[00:00:22]
Where the fishermen cast on the waters[00:00:27]
And the apples are pressed into wine[00:00:33]
Where the herd returns slowly to pasture[00:00:38]
Through the fields that surround Ballydine[00:00:44]
I marvelled at nature's abundance[00:00:50]
In Tipperary so rich and so rare[00:00:55]
I drank from the well of spring water[00:01:01]
Breathing in deep the fresh air[00:01:06]
When I came to John Hanrahan's homestead[00:01:12]
In the fields around Ballycurkeen[00:01:17]
I lay down in a meadow of wild flower[00:01:23]
And dreamt a mysterious dream[00:01:28]
I dreamt of a curious eviction[00:01:34]
Unlike the evictions of old[00:01:40]
No sign of a Redcoat nor bailiff[00:01:45]
'Twas more pernicious and cold[00:01:51]
On the air came a colourless vapour[00:01:56]
The fields they fell silent and still[00:02:01]
As I lay in that meadow of wildflower[00:02:07]
Dreaming on Hanrahan's Hill[00:02:13]
When I awoke I was frightened[00:02:18]
I knew 'twas time to head home[00:02:24]
I made my way back to Cluan Meala[00:02:30]
On the road passing Merck Sharpe[00:02:35]
And Dohme[00:02:38]
