Johnny McEldoo - Tommy Makem[00:00:00]
There was johnny mceldoo and mcgee and me[00:00:02]
And a couple of two or three went on the spree one day[00:00:05]
We had a bob or two which we knew how to blew[00:00:08]
And the beer and whiskey flew and we all felt gay[00:00:11]
We visited mccann's maclaman's humpty dan's[00:00:13]
We then went into swan's our stomachs for to pack[00:00:15]
We ordered up a feed which indeed we did need[00:00:18]
And we finished it with speed but we still felt slack[00:00:20]
Johnny mceldoo turned red white and blue[00:00:23]
As a plate of irish stew he soon put out of sight[00:00:25]
He shouted out encore with a roar for some more[00:00:27]
That he'd never felt before such a keen appetite[00:00:30]
We ordered eggs and ham bread and jam what a cram[00:00:32]
But him we couldn't ram though we tried our level best[00:00:35]
For everthing we brought cold or hot mattered not[00:00:37]
It went down him like a shot and he still stood the test[00:00:40]
He swallowed tripe and lard by the yard we got scared[00:00:42]
We thought it would go hard when the waiter brought the bill[00:00:45]
We told him to give o'er but he swore he could lower[00:00:47]
Twice as much again and more before he had his fill[00:00:50]
He nearly supped a trough full of broth says mcgragh[00:00:52]
He'll devour the tablecloth if you don't hold him in[00:00:55]
When the waiter brought the charge mceldoo felt so large[00:00:57]
He began to shout and barge and his blood went on fire[00:01:00]
He began to curse and swear tear his hair in despair[00:01:02]
To finish the affair called the shop man a liar[00:01:05]
The shop man he threw out and no doubt he did clout[00:01:07]
Mceldoo he kicked about like an old football[00:01:10]
Tattered all his clothes broke his nose I suppose[00:01:12]
He would have killed him with a few blows in no time at all[00:01:14]
Mceldoo began to howl and to growl by my soul[00:01:17]
Threw an empty bowl at the shop keepers head[00:01:19]
It struck ol' mickey flynn peeled the skin from his chin[00:01:22]
An a ruction did begin and we all fought and bled[00:01:24]
The peelers did arrive man alive four or five[00:01:27]
At us they made a dive for us all to march away[00:01:29]
We paid for all the meat that we ate stood a trait[00:01:32]
And went home to ruminate on the spree that day[00:01:34]
