Glory Of Old - Herman Dune[00:00:00]
I left the flat cause it felt like home[00:00:17]
Ordered wine and sat down to write you a poem[00:00:20]
The words came easy the words came strong[00:00:24]
The poem would be good the poem would be long[00:00:27]
Wine came but I didn't drink a sip[00:00:31]
I just checked I had money for the wine and for the tip[00:00:34]
Then the poem went on and about an hour past[00:00:38]
I lit a straight and had my drink at last[00:00:41]
Oh you you who know me quite well[00:00:44]
You know that I don't live where I dwell[00:00:51]
I don't need a table I don't need a drink[00:01:12]
All I do need is some room to think[00:01:15]
Given the waterfall given the few[00:01:19]
Anything goes anythings coo[00:01:22]
I take the world with its buildings and its trees[00:01:26]
And all its swans become my geese[00:01:29]
The river a little stream[00:01:33]
The glory of old a dream[00:01:36]
But you you who know me well enough[00:01:40]
You know what it's all made of it's all made of good stuff[00:01:46]
I kissed the cutest Greek little girl[00:03:02]
She gave me some soda and a little blue pearl[00:03:05]
I found a roman city in southern Italy[00:03:09]
And destroyed its ruins destroyed them totally[00:03:12]
I left a pair of black underpants[00:03:16]
In the men's room of a bar in Paris France[00:03:19]
I slept on the beach above the artic circle[00:03:23]
Woke up alive and didn't call it a miracle[00:03:26]
But you you who know me like nobody else does[00:03:29]
You know it doesn't matter it doesn't matter where I was[00:03:36]
