Amos Moses - The Sensational Alex Harvey Band[00:00:01]
Written by:Jerry R. Hubbard[00:00:02]
Amos Moses was a Cajun[00:00:13]
And lived by himself in the swamp[00:00:17]
Hunting alligator for a living[00:00:21]
Knock ''em on the head with a stump[00:00:25]
The Louisiana law's gonna get you Amos[00:00:29]
It ain't legal hunting alligator down in the swamp boy[00:00:36]
Now everybody blamed his old man for raising him mean as a snake[00:00:45]
When Amos Moses was a boy[00:00:52]
His daddy would use him as alligator bait[00:00:55]
Tie a rope around his waist throw him in the swamp[00:00:59]
Alligator bait on the Louisiana bayou[00:01:08]
Just about 45 minutes southeast of Thibodaux Louisiana[00:01:15]
There lived a man called doc Milsap and his pretty wife Hannah[00:01:23]
They raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries[00:01:31]
Named him after a man of the cloth they called him Amos Moses[00:01:39]
Now folks in south Louisiana said Amos was a helluva man[00:01:54]
He could trap the biggest[00:02:01]
Meanest alligator he only had to use one hand[00:02:04]
That's all he got left cause the alligator bit him ha ha[00:02:09]
Left arm gone clean up to the elbow[00:02:17]
Just about 45 minutes southeast of Thibodaux Louisiana[00:02:24]
There lived a man called doc Milsap and his pretty wife Hannah[00:02:32]
They raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries[00:02:40]
Named him after a man of the cloth they called him Amos Moses[00:02:56]
Well the sheriff got wind that Amos was in the swamp hunting alligator skin[00:04:19]
So he hid in the swamp I'm gonna get you boy[00:04:26]
He never did come out again[00:04:30]
Well I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to[00:04:33]
Sure can get lost in the Louisiana bayou[00:04:41]
Well I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to[00:04:50]
Sure can get lost in the Louisiana bayou[00:04:56]
Well I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to[00:05:04]
Sure can get lost in the Louisiana bayou[00:05:12]
