Remembering Marie A - Robyn Archer[00:00:00]
It was a day in that blue month september[00:00:02]
Silent beneath the plum trees slender shade[00:00:06]
I held her there[00:00:11]
My love so pale and silent[00:00:14]
As if she were a dream that must not fade[00:00:17]
Above us in the shining summer heaven[00:00:21]
There was a cloud my eyes dwelled long upon[00:00:26]
It was quite white and very high above us[00:00:32]
Then i looked up[00:00:41]
And found that it had gone[00:00:44]
And since that day so many moons in silence[00:00:48]
Have swum across the sky and gone below[00:00:52]
The plum trees surely have been chopped for firewood[00:00:56]
And if you ask how does that love seem now[00:01:01]
I must admit i really can't remember[00:01:05]
And yet i know what you are trying to say[00:01:10]
But what her face was like i know no longer[00:01:15]
I only know i kissed it on that day[00:01:24]
As for the kiss i long ago forgot it[00:01:32]
But for the cloud that floated in the sky[00:01:35]
I know that still and shall forever know it[00:01:40]
It was quite white and moved in very high[00:01:44]
It may be that the plum trees still are blooming[00:01:50]
That woman's seventh child may now be there[00:01:54]
And yet that cloud had only bloomed for minutes[00:02:00]
When i looked up[00:02:10]
It vanished on the air[00:02:14]
