Lovely Leitrim - Tara[00:00:00]
Last night I had a pleasant dream[00:00:09]
I woke up with a smile[00:00:13]
I dreamt that I was back again[00:00:18]
In dear old Erin's Isle[00:00:22]
I thought I saw Lough Allen's[00:00:26]
Banks in the valleys down below[00:00:30]
It was my lovely Leitrim where[00:00:35]
The Shannon water's flow[00:00:40]
I stood enchanted at the scene[00:00:44]
Of grandeur and of light[00:00:48]
I hard for care left for Kerry town[00:00:53]
Before the dark of night[00:00:57]
I passed Sheemore that fairy[00:01:02]
Hill where flowers wildly grow[00:01:05]
And I passed the grave of Finn[00:01:10]
McCool where the Shannon water's flow[00:01:13]
The next I saw was Finnea Town[00:01:19]
With her ancient abbey walls[00:01:23]
The preaching of her holy[00:01:28]
Monks re echoes through her halls[00:01:31]
I stood with reverence on the[00:01:37]
Spot reluctant for to go[00:01:41]
From the town of saints and sages[00:01:46]
Where the Shannon water's flow[00:01:49]
I've travelled far from this great[00:02:03]
Land from the east and to the west[00:02:07]
But of all the islands I have seen[00:02:12]
I love my own the best[00:02:17]
And if ever I return again[00:02:21]
There's one place I will go[00:02:25]
It will be my lovely Leitrim[00:02:29]
Where the Shannon water's flow[00:02:34]
