Cottage By the Lee - Larry Cunningham[00:00:00]
Written by:Richard Farrelly[00:00:00]
'Tis well I know that often folks keep wond'ring[00:00:08]
When in my eyes a far off look they see[00:00:16]
What can it be the cause of all my dreaming[00:00:24]
What is this dream so very dear to me[00:00:32]
And truth to tell 'tis often I go roaming[00:00:40]
In dreams along the road of memory[00:00:48]
To where my heart will find its consolation[00:00:56]
Within that lovely cottage by the Lee[00:01:04]
My home sweet home that I so fondly cherish[00:01:12]
The dear ones there mean everything to me[00:01:20]
In all this world if there could be a heaven[00:01:28]
I'm sure it's in that cottage by the Lee[00:01:36]
'Tis grand to stand outside that cottage doorway[00:01:48]
And gaze across the corn fields so rich and gold[00:01:56]
To hear the stream go rippling by the meadow[00:02:04]
Or watch the shepherd calling to his fold[00:02:12]
Brought down the lane that winds behind the garden[00:02:20]
The blackbird greets the smiling summer morn[00:02:28]
And as his music echoes o'er the valley[00:02:36]
You smile and bless the day that you were born[00:02:44]
Yes that's my dream my lovely dream of homeland[00:02:52]
And though I thought a rover I could be[00:03:00]
It's soon I found I left my heart behind me[00:03:08]
Within that lovely cottage by the Lee[00:03:16]
