Alone - Basil Rathbone/Edgar Allan Poe[00:00:00]
From childhood's hour I have not been[00:00:00]
As others were[00:00:02]
I have not seen[00:00:04]
As others saw[00:00:05]
I could not bring[00:00:07]
My passions from a common spring [00:00:08]
From the same source I have not taken[00:00:11]
My sorrow[00:00:13]
I could not awaken[00:00:14]
My heart to joy at the same tone;[00:00:15]
And all I loved I loved alone [00:00:19]
Then in my childhood in the dawn[00:00:24]
Of a most stormy life was drawn[00:00:26]
From every depth of good and ill[00:00:30]
The mystery which binds me still:[00:00:32]
From the torrent [00:00:36]
Or the fountain [00:00:37]
From the red cliff of the mountain [00:00:38]
From the sun that round me rolled[00:00:40]
In its autumn tint of gold [00:00:42]
From the lightning in the sky[00:00:44]
As it passed me flying by [00:00:45]
From the thunder and the storm [00:00:47]
And the cloud that took the form[00:00:49]
When the rest of Heaven was blue[00:00:52]
Of a demon in my view[00:00:56]
